In my younger days, I refused to allow society to dictate what I wore. My friends would always say—that is not in vogue, and I'd tell them—that is classic. So, I hope the younger generation will tune out some of these unnecessary influencers. A lot of them are money grabbers.

It's much harder to tune out today than it was before. The culture is so strong! 😭😭😭 It's one of those things where one must go through it, realise how untrue it is to their being and tap out!

I agree that it’s much harder to tune out nowadays. I too have been known to think outside the box when it comes to things and found myself under the influence… my solution was to detox who and what I was following at the time.

Honestly, you blink and so much has changed around & within you. It's like a magic spell. I am glad you found your way out.

I struggle with this feeling of “keeping up” as well. Especially because the algorithms will keep feeding you same stuff if you interact with it. Last night I got video after video telling me how I needed to start doing 45 minutes on the stair master. And since I don’t do that I inevitably started feeling bad for myself. Amazing article!

Hey Imiyah! Thank you for reading my contribution. I understand the struggle with keeping up. Funny enough, I too have felt like my regular walks aren't enough to get snatched and that I needed a gym. But do I? I have dropped 6kgs just from walking.

It's important to ask yourself the hard questions before diving into anything. And maybe teh star master is not your thing and that's OK. 💕
