Hello there, Miss Dailey. I am an enrolled member of the Yurok tribe, although I grew up on the Hoopa Indian reservation in Northern California. Come connect with us this summer. My family and others practice the culture and keep the ceremonies alive. If you don’t have any plans for the last weekend of July, that is when we have our family reunion. We would love to share our traditions with you. Please let me know.

Hi Mary! So kind of you to extend an invitation. I might not be able to make it this year due to a July 20-28 trip, but can we connect and discuss via email or private socials? I haven’t been to the Hoopa Indian reservation and I am very interested! (Less exciting, if you are in San Francisco anytime please let me know)

I will be out there all summer, I live in North Carolina right now, but I am going out there next week. I am under Mary Jeanette Hall on Facebook. Maybe you can find some time to travel up that way before or after your trip.

Also, I'd love to read more on how to decolonize friendships...

In the meantime, there’s this UK article on our interconnectedness and how to decolonize friendships :) https://amityjournal.leeds.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/127/2020/08/NORDIN-2020.pdf

Another incredible piece. Thank you for sharing 💜 As a Black Latiné person I often wish to connect more with my Native Taino ancestors and their experiences. We were "exterminated" by colonization and lost so much of our native culture. This inspired me to try and reconnect. Thanks
